This easy Easy Skinny Buffalo Chicken Dip Recipe  is a lighter take on the classic favorite. I am a member of the Collective Bias® Social Fabric® Community. This shop has been compensated as part of a social shopper amplification for Collective Bias and its advertiser.

It seems like so many of us are trying to eat better after the holidays.  I find that eating healthy is easier when I am in control of my environment.  When I buy and prepare my food, making sensible choices are a piece of cake (that pun was totally intended!).  Eating out is a whole other story.  And, I’m not just talking restaurants.

Let’s take, for instance, Super Bowl parties.  Every year, my husband’s uncle throws a super-fun Super Bowl party.  Of course the best part of the party (for me, anyway) is the food.  I love a good pot luck!  But, we all know these types of shin digs are not known for their buffets of healthy eats.  Everything is full of fat, calories and sodium.

I have found, that when I’m in these situations, it’s best to bring a healthier option with me.  This way, I know there’s at least one option for me that fits into my eating plan.  This year, I’m planning to make this Skinny Buffalo Chicken Dip recipe.

By swapping out some of the higher fat items and replacing them with lighter options, I was able to turn my favorite chicken wing dip into a Skinny Buffalo Chicken Dip!  To get started, I diced up some Tyson Grilled & ready chicken strips.

Mixed together all of the ingredients.

Placed the ingredients in a baking dish and topped it with some low-fat mozzarella.  So easy and so good!

Then, just trade in the tortilla chips for celery, other veggies or pita chips and you have a great healthier option!

I’ve also made this dip in a small slow cooker and it works perfectly!  This is the mini slow cooker I use.

I found these great Tyson Grilled & Ready chicken strips that are just perfect for this recipe!

They are already cooked and ready to go right out of the bag.  I found them in the freezer section of my local Wal-Mart.  A super fridge for these products will be available in 1,067 Wal-Mart stores nationwide.  Beginning 12/30/13, Walmart will have all Grilled & Ready products on Rollback for just $5.87!  What a great deal!

If you think living healthier means depriving yourself, think again!  These great Tyson Grilled & Ready products  are a great way to add simple additions to my existing routine.   They are packed with protein and are helping me build healthy habits that will last a lifetime.

You can substitute these in any recipe that calls for cooked chicken — such as Chicken Caesar Salad, Chicken Salad or even quesadillas.  They are a real time saver!   I’m planning to keep a couple bags in my freezer for those nights when I need to get dinner on the table quick!  For more easy ideas, check out Tyson’s Just Add This Facebook app (from January to March)!  You can get daily tips and recipes and enter to win great prizes.

Skinny Buffalo Chicken Dip Recipe

Compliments of It’s a Keeper
www.itisakeeper.com

4 oz fat free cream cheese, softened
1 cup fat free sour cream
1/2 cup hot sauce (I used some from our favorite wing joint)
1/2 cup reduced fat blue cheese crumbles
1/2 Tbsp dry ranch seasoning
2 cups cooked chicken breast, shredded (or finely diced)
1/2 cup low fat mozzarella cheese, shredded

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Mix all ingredients together in a bowl.

Spray a small baking dish (I used a pie dish) with a light coating of non-stick cooking spray.  Transfer the mixture to the baking dish.  Top with mozzarella cheese.

Bake for 30 minutes or until dip is bubbly and the cheese is melted.  Serve hot.

My husband and son would die for me to make this. They love buffalo wings. For some reason I’ve never liked that taste so I like to let them indulge in these types of things when I’m dieting, which I’m doing now.
