Common Questions About This Sausage Pasta Recipe

How do I Keep the Gnocchi from Sticking?

The best way to cook gnocchi without it sticking is to prep the pan. Use either nonstick spray or line the pan with parchment paper.

Can you Overcook the Gnocchi?

Yes, you can overcook gnocchi. Gnocchi is cooked when it becomes golden brown. Overcooking will lead to potentially dry gnocchi instead of resulting in fluffy gnocchi.

Christina’s Notes

          • Preheat the Sheet Pan: Place your sheet pan in the oven while it preheats to 400°F. This helps the gnocchi and veggies get that crispy, caramelized edge right away.
        • Use Fresh Gnocchi – Fresh gnocchi tends to roast better than frozen or shelf-stable varieties. If using frozen, let it thaw slightly before baking.
        • Toss Everything in Olive Oil & Seasonings – Coat the sausage, gnocchi, and veggies in olive oil, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper for maximum flavor.
        • Add Parmesan & Panko for Extra Crunch – Sprinkle grated Parmesan and panko breadcrumbs over the gnocchi before baking to create a crispy, cheesy topping.
        • Roast at High Heat – A temperature of 400°F ensures the gnocchi gets golden and the sausage cooks through while keeping everything tender inside.
        • Customize Your Veggies – Try adding butternut squash, Brussels sprouts, or bell peppers for extra color and texture.
        • Finish with Fresh Herbs – Toss in fresh basil or parsley after baking for a burst of freshness.
        • Serve With: Serve with Air Fryer Garlic Bread, a super simple parmesan arugula salad or Sausage Tortellini Soup.
