  • Potatoes: Russet potatoes will be best for make these air fryer tater tots.

  • Onion Powder: You will need onion powder.
  • Garlic Powder: Garlic powder will work best as opposed to fresh minced garlic as it will be able to incorporate more evenly.
  • Chili Flakes: If you want a little spice then add crushed red pepper flakes.
  • Parsley: I used dried parsley, but you can also use fresh parsley.
  • Flour: All purpose flour is best for making this recipe.
  • Oregano: You will need dried oregano. For Italian seasoned tater tots, use this Italian seasoning blend.

How to Air Fry Tater Tots

These are the basic steps for making Air Fryer Tater Tots. Please refer to the recipe card below for more detailed instructions.

STEP 1: PREPARE POTATOES

Make sure to prep the boil potatoes and allow them to cool completely before making this recipe. Add the grated potatoes to a large mixing bowl. Then add in salt, black pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, chili flakes, all purpose flour, oregano, and parsley. Mix until you get a sticky dough.

STEP 2: AIR FRY TATER TOTS

Roll the mixture into about 20 small even balls and shape into a classic tater tot using your fingers and brush on oil or cooking spray. Air fry in a single layer for 8-10 minutes at 350 degrees f, you will want to shake this halfway through to ensure they cook evenly. Serve immediately with ketchup or you favorite dipping sauce.

CAN YOU LAYER TATER TOTS IN THE AIR FRYER?

  • 1 lb boiled potatoes
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon chili flakes
  • ½ cup chopped parsley
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon oregano

Instructions

  • Grate the boiled potatoes and transfer them to a large bowl.
  • Add salt, black pepper powder, onion powder, garlic powder, chili flakes, chopped parsley, all-purpose flour, and oregano.
