Sigh! Chicken again? How can I make it different? My family loves chicken, especially boneless, skinless chicken breast. But, it can get kind of boring.
I’m always thinking of new ways to make it. That’s how this brown sugar garlic chicken recipe came about. Essentially, it’s a mash-up of my Slow Cooker Pork Tenderloin recipe and my Garlic Parmesan Wings. The result was tender, juicy chicken dripping in a sweet, garlicky sauce.
How to Make Honey Garlic Chicken – Step by Step
- Step One: Season your chicken breast. (Photo 1 below)
- Step Two: Add butter to your skillet and heat to medium high heat. (Photo 2 below)
- Step Three: Then place chicken in an even single layer in skillet. (Photo 3 below)
- Step Four: Now brown on each side for 2 to 3 minutes. (Photo 4 below)
- Step Five: Set the chicken aside and place remaining butter in pan. Then add garlic and saute for 30 seconds. (Photo 5 below)
- Step Six: Remove pan from heat and stir in herbs. (Photo 6 below)
- Step Seven: Place the brown sugar and honey to create the sauce. (Photo 7 below)
- Step Eight: Finally, return chicken to the skillet. Stick in a 400 degree oven for twenty minutes or until chicken reaches 170 degrees on a meat thermometer. (Photo 8 below)

Honey Glazed Chicken
Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breast halves
- 1 teaspoon House Seasoning Blend
- 3 tablespoons butter, divided
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/4 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/8 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
- Season chicken liberally with salt and pepper.
- Add 2 tablespoons butter to a large oven-proof skillet and melt over medium high heat.
- Add chicken and sear on both sides until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side; set aside.
- Add remaining tablespoon butter to the skillet and melt.
- Add garlic, and cook, stirring frequently, until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Remove from heat.
- Stir in brown sugar, honey, oregano, thyme, basil and crushed red pepper until combined.
- Return chicken to the skillet.
- Place skillet into oven and roast until chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees F, about 15 minutes.
