Moonshine is a high-proof liquor traditionally made or distributed illegally. It’s often made from corn and other grains, and its name comes from the practice of distilling it at night (under the moonlight) to avoid detection.
Ingredient Notes for Tropical Flavored Moonshine
This Pineapple Moonshine is the perfect summer cocktail. You will love the combination of flavors – pineapple, coconut and orange – come together into a strong and flavorful cocktail that will knock your socks off.
- Orange Juice: Fresh squeezed or bottled is fine, about 2 cup. Strain the pulp or use it if you prefer that texture. You will also need orange zest and orange slices.
- Pineapple Juice: 64 oz of pineapple juice.
- Cream of Coconut: Not coconut water but actual coconut cream.
- Torani Pineapple Syrup: This enhances that tropical pineapple vibe.
- Sugar: 2 cups of white sugar or use brown sugar if you prefer a deeper flavor.
- 750 ml Everclear 190 proof : This grain alcohol is very strong so use caution. You can also use Everclear 151.

- Other Alcohol: Try regular vodka or Coconut Vodka.

1. Mix the Juices and Sugar
First, add orange juice, pineapple juice and cream of coconut to large stock pot and then stir in orange zest, orange slices and sugar.Bring a boil then turn heat down to simmer. Simmer the liquid for 15 minutes or until sugar is completely dissolved. Remove from heat and allow to cool completely. This can be done in a slow cooker or crockpot if you prefer that method.
2. Add the Grain Alcohol
Next, stir Everclear and pineapple syrup into the cooled simple syrup mixture. Ladle or pour mixture into jars and seal tightly by hand. There is no need to can this beverage.
3. Store and Serve
Finally, store for 8 weeks in a cool dark place. There is no need to refrigerate. Serve over ice and with some orange slices. Remember, please drink responsibly and always follow the law.

No, there is no need to can this recipe. Just make sure that your jars and lids are completely clean. Always make sure that the lids are applied tightly. The everclear alcohol keeps everything preserved.
Making this recipe ahead of time is a must as the alcohol needs time to mellow and the flavors have time to meld. Can you drink before the 8 weeks, yes, but it is not recommended. Make your favorite punch or coolers with the moonshine or simply add ice and club soda.

Ingredients
- 2 cups Orange juice
- 64 ounces Pineapple juice
- 4 ounces Cream of coconut
- 1 tablespoons Orange zest
- 1 Orange, sliced
- 2 cups Sugar
- 750 ml Everclear 190 proof, see notes
- ½ cup Torani Pineapple syrup
- 2 cups Fresh pineapple chunks
Instructions
- Add orange juice, pineapple juice and cream of coconut to large stock pot.
- Stir in orange zest, orange slices and sugar.
- Bring a boil then turn heat down to simmer.
- Simmer for 15 minutes or until sugar is completely dissolved.
- Remove from heat and allow to cool completely.
- Stir Everclear and pineapple syrup into the cooled mixture.
- Evenly divide the pineapple chunks between the jars. Ladle moonshine into jars and seal tightly.

- This recipe uses Everclear 190 proof. If you can’t find it in your area, you can use Everclear 151 proof or vodka.
- As long as you alcohol that is more than 80 proof, you can store your moonshine in tightly sealed jars for up to one year in a cool, dark place.

How do you keep this from seperating? 1st day in storage there were 3 distinct layers in the jar, pineapple/orange juice, then the alcohol, and then the coconut. is there a way to bind this all together?
Due to the different density of the mix, separation can occur. Shaking before serving will mix it together again or you can add a little citric acid.
